Whitehorse to Whitehorse, 11 miles, June 17, 2010

Very short travel day today, we just moved from the Caribou RV IMG_0192Park to the Hi Country RV Park, both have Whitehorse addresses.  I followed Bob today since we were not going far.  We ended up with a nice, just wide enough, pull through site with full hookups including WiFi. $34 per night, that is Canadian and includes a Good Sam 10% discount.

Here is our site.

IMG_0200 Shortly after arriving, saw this front loader being put to good use, compacting the garbage.  The dumpster was overflowing before he started doing his thing.

IMG_0201 This afternoon we drove into Whitehorse, walked around some, then went on a walking tour of some of the unmarked historical sites in town, very interesting.  Our guide was dressed in period dress and certainly knew her history.

After the historical walk through town we stopped at a local farmers market.  There were various crafts, honey, jams, and knitted items available for sale.IMG_7755

We ended up with a handful of rhubarb for a toonie ($2 CND) yes, that is what they call their $2  CND coin.  After getting back to the coach Bob cut the rhubarb up and I made a rhubarb pie less the crust.  Also froze enough for another crustless pie.

The plants growing behind the glass on this enclosed porch are tomatoes with tons of blooms on them!  Where there is a will there is a way!
