Update, May 13, 2012

Well, the house has been listed for almost a month now and we do know one of these days we will be getting the much awaited for call from our realtor.

We are also still in Sacramento taking the opportunity to spend some time with our kids and grandkids.

Mother’s Day weekend for our family for over 25 years meant a work weekend at the  Zephyr Point Presbyterian Conference Grounds at Lake Tahoe with our church group, called The Companionship.  Since we were here, first time in six years, we joined our good friends.

The Conference Grounds provide our group free usage of one of the smaller lodges in exchange for one days work.

Our grandson Zach joined us also and had a blast playing Mexican Train, he even won against some of the best players we know!!

I always help plant flowers, this year was no exception.  The daffodils were already there, so we (Linda, Nancy and myself) planted red and white petunias in the gaps.IMG_0034

Zach  and Bob helped with some step demolition.

Also, he helped with the garbage truck trash pickup.  Yes, that is him hanging on the back of the truck.  He loved to operate the trash smasher too.

Here Zach is taking a dip in the 50 degree waters of Lake Tahoe.  His Mom, many years ago, used to do the same thing.

Cousin visit–October 16, 2011

About an hour from Gettysburg Bob’s second cousin Pam and her husband Larry live, so today we take a road trip to visit with them. It has been over 30 years since we last saw each other.

We enjoyed a great lunch with them along with lots and lots of visiting.

Then back to their home for some more visiting. Before we left, their son Matt, his wife Mindy and their son came by for a visit after a soccer game.

Visit with family, Carlisle, OH, Sept 25-Oct 2, 2011

IMG_1823

Here we are moochdocking in my sister’s driveway. Works well, even have an electric hookup. I believe we will give this site a 10. So what is Bob holding, well it is a decorative turtle and a box from Terrapin Creek Ridge. The turtle symbolizes a practical joke that backfired back on us. It is one of those, you had to be there to get a good laugh, but we sure did, get a good laugh!

Lunch with Katherine, my sister, her daughter Susan, and Bob.

Bob mowing her yard, first time he was mowed a yard in probably 5 years!

We all visited a nearby cemetery where my brother-in-law and nephew are buried. Notice the nice flowers Katherine placed on the graves.

This is the beginning of cookie baking time, Katherine is mixing up the spices to add to the Molasses Cookies, using the recipe our Mother used to make.

Yes, they were as good as they look!!

Here Bob is cleaning out Katherine’s gutters and then putting a gutter guard in place.

We can’t decide, which sister is the evil one. I had gotten her a T-shirt saying, “I can’t remember if I am the good sister or the bad (evil) one”. Then she had one made for me. What do you think? Bob says he knows!!

Here we are modeling another present from her. The shirts say, “To Save Time, Let’s Just Assume I’m Never Wrong”. I love it.

Here is my niece Lory and her friend John. Please notice Jerry in the background, a real formerly stuffed beaver.

I have been lax

Boy, have I been lax about posting.  But to find out what I have been doing check out Bob’s blog.  We are currently parked in my sister, Katherine’s driveway, using her electric and even her wifi.  We have not seen each other for about 18 months so we have been visiting almost non stop.  Below is a photo of her daughter, Lory’s family.

And here is her other daughter, Susan’s family.

Cousin Patty and family, Sat Jan 22, 2011

I just did some figuring and Patty and Bob are second cousins. Their families kept in contact and visited often during the years Bob was growing up. The last time we met them, Patty, her husband Wayne and their son Alan was in 2006, our first year full-timing, so we had a few years to get caught up on. We met at their lake home in Willis (on Lake Conroe).

Dinner was wonderful and it didn’t even slow down the flow of our conversations.IMG_6041

Here Wayne had just finished showing us one of his pride and joys, his Harley Davidson trike. Did you know getting reverse is an option? It was a beauty.

Thanks Patty, Wayne, and Alan for a great visit!
