Escaping the cold temps, Nov 7-8, 2010

The weather forecast for cold temps and snow for central Utah was not what we wanted to be in, so this year we decided to skip Moab and just drive south towards New Mexico.  So we drove for two days, stopping for the night in Grants NM, then on down to Deming, NM to spend a few days at the Escapees Dream Catcher RV Park.

Both days’ mileage totaled 694 miles, that is way more than we like to drive, but we were on a mission – warmer temps.

Sad to say, only a glimpse of Arches NP this trip.

Upon entering NM, it was time to get out another states paper map, even though we have a trusty (most of the time) GPS, I always have a paper map on my lap or close to me.  This map also has AZ on the flip side, so with all its use it was time to tape the wear torn folds.

I am continuing to drive the coach some, getting ready to take the Texas drivers test (in the coach), as we are headed to Texas to become officially Texans.IMG_5401

By about 3 pm on Monday the 8th we were safely tucked into our RV site at Dream Catcher RV Park for a few days.  Yes, the temps were in the lower 70’s!
