A little sightseeing in Wasilla, July 19, 2010

Now this is a long isle at the Super Wal-Mart in Wasilla.  We have not been in a Super Wal-Mart for months.

Now you don’t find this is most Walmarts, the Alaska Pack.  It is all you need to bag a moose, literally for only $39.00.

4 Extra Large 60” bags for animal quarters

3 Large 48” bags for neck, loin and rib meat

7 Water resistant bag identification tags

7 Bag closure ties

2 pair of Latex Gloves

Does anyone want me to ship them an Alaska Pack?

After lunch we headed off the visit the Iditarod Headquarters, here is the stuffed Togo,  he and his owner played a very important part in the famous 1925 diphtheria serum run from Anchorage to Nome.  The run is commemorated by the annual Iditarod  dog sled race.   Togo was not a large dog, only about 48 pounds. (sorry the photo is a little distorted, but they had him behind plexiglas).

This team of dogs was ready to go.

We did not take a ride, but these dogs flew, they were so happy to do their job!

IMG_9513 These musher’s boots were on display inside, they were huge as they were so insulated.  No frozen toes in these boots.

Then we visited the Dorothy Page Museum.  This rain parka is made from walrus intestine.  Don’t think I want one, although it did look very stylish with the fur around the hood.

The enormous 5th wheel toy hauler pulled into the park this afternoon, has to be close to 40’. I am sure the little red truck has no problem pulling this RV, but what about stopping this giant.

That is a HUGE 5th Toy Hauler!

We ventured into that SWM in Wasilla but missed the Moose Pack! LOL!

Still on free WiFi in Chapters/Starbucks while RV is getting work!

Yes, please ship one moose pack. Make sure pack contains one moose.

Surely if a fiver needs three axles, it needs something heavier to pull it safety!

I just found your blog. Mind if I stop by occasionally?
