We had plans for today for a train ride on the White Pass and Yukon Railway, but that wasn’t until 12:30, so we explored this morning. Had to be sure to get my Passport book stamped at the Klondike Gold Rush National Park, then went on a great ranger led town tour. Also caught the end of a Flag Day ceremony this morning. God Bless the USA!
It was now time for our train excursion. This is our engine arriving at Skagway Junction.
This shows an area where an avalanche came down and the light green down the mountainside is new growth.
Below is a well worn section of the Trail of ‘98 (1898)
A view on a curve of our train heading down.
Here the train is crossing a wooden trestle and heading into a tunnel.
A good time was had by all.
Flags of USA, Alaska, British Columbia, Yukon, and Canada.
