Our last day in Skagway, June 15, 2010

We had just peeked into the Klondike Goldrush National Historic Park museum yesterday, so wanted to go back today and explore more. This display shows the two trails the Klondikers took to get over the mountains on their way to Dawson City. One left from Skagway-White Pass Trail and the other one from Dyea-Chilcoot Trail.

Here is a photo of what Dyea looked like with every ones’ “ton of goods”.

The lilacs are in full bloom here in Skagway. Yes, I do stop and smell and take photos. Also have seen some very healthy rhubarb growing, some three feet tall, it appears to be part of the landscaping around a restaurant – sure wanted to help them prune their plants, we love rhubarb.

Tomorrow we are heading up the White Pass to Whitehorse, plan to spend a few days there, lots to see. Hopefully I will be able to post the last weeks worth of blog posts.
