Havre, MT to Fort Benton, MT, 68 miles, Oct 3, 2010

Our drive today was short, only 68 miles, so we were soon parked in Fort Benton RV Park, Passport America discount, so the nightly fee was $15/night.  We have a full hook-up 50 amp site, only the water has been turned off, but if we need to fill our water tank, we can through a series of hoses.

Fort Benton has a nice self guided walking tour of their downtown which is along the Missouri River.  This statue of “Shep” was very touching.  Read the story here.  We also had a dog named Shep, she was a stray that found us in NC, we then we  moved her to OH and then to CA.  She had a wonderful life!

Fort Benton has a statue of my heros from the Corps of Discovery -- William Clark, Meriweather Lewis, Sacagawea, and Pomp.  They all camped near here in June of 1806 for about a week on their journey west.

We have figured what is wrong with our Directv LNB that is connected to our Motosat.  It is cracked, so we need to find another one, hopefully Great Falls with have what we need.  In the meantime, Bob set up the tripod and with just a little tweaking, we had service.  First though, I had to call Directv to activate us, as our service was ‘on hold’ while we were in Alaska and Canada.
