Today was the day we drove back to the US. Since we left Bellingham WA on May 17th to start our adventure of going to Alaska, it has been 137 days and 6,413 miles later. I like to say, we went to Alaska and fell in love with Canada. Alaska was pretty amazing as well.
This morning at Writing on Stone PP we took a walk down to the Milk River.
There is a fence around the campground with a latched gate, there a sign says. “Please keep the gate closed. Help save our trees by keeping the beavers out”.
Love to see the fields being harvested.
An interesting array of grain storage units.
Our border crossing at Sweetgrass MT went well. We were asked where we were from? Any fruits and vegetables ? Bob said we had 1/2 of a pepper and that was OK, the agent just wanted to confirm it was not whole, but cut. Any tobacco? Any firearms or guns? And finally had we ever been arrested? That was it and off we went. Welcome to the USA!
Bob was also glad the driving lanes were 12’ wide, they are often much narrower only giving us about 3-4” extra on each side.
It was about noon when we arrived at the Lewis and Clark RV Park, in Shelby, MT, full 30 amp hookups $34.24/nite. The entire coach needs detailed inside and out, but a quick vacuum helped immensely.
We use a water filter and today we changed the filter, we were amazed at the difference! This was the first time we have changed the filter and in reading more carefully, we let this filter go 6 months and the box says to change every 3 months. We will do better next time.
A quick stop at an Albertsons in Shelby replenished our veggies and fruits.
