Hopefully this will be our last full day in Tok and Bob’s hearing aid will be at the post office when we check shortly after 8:30 and we can be on our way.
We did clean up a couple of things today. First the Explorer. This wash bay is at the RV park and gives you 5 minutes of high pressure wash for $2.
Then we cleaned up several bays using the air compressor to blow out the dust and dirt.
Then I cleaned up the inside some. Also did a couple of loads of laundry. Some days aren’t very exciting, but, that is OK.
We did get to talk to two of our three kids today, that was nice to get caught up on their lives.
Below a view of our site here, and all those lovely trees.

Tok is the car wash capital of AK! LOL!
Hi Linda,
I hope you make time to visit Fairbanks, it's my favorite Alaska town, Homer runs second!
We stayed at the River's Edge Campground, right on the Chena River 2 of our 3 trips up there!
Having a nice lunch at the Pump House on the Chena River is so relaxing, watching the big paddle boats go by! That is also a fun touristy thing to do,taking the Discovery boat tour, it is quite informative! The first time we did it, we saw Susan Butcher the 3 time Iditarod Champion and my hero! She had on a microphone, standing on her kennel property speaking with the boat as it went by. Inside her coat were a couple of furry friends that were already in training to be sled dogs! Her husband still gives the dog sled demonstration as you sit on the boat!
There's the gold dredge to see outside of town that was interesting even after seeing the dredge in Dawson City. You can also pan for gold. They "salt" the bags with a few flakes, so you don't leave empty handed! I have a little pendant with our gold find!
Most importantly, don't wait too long to visit there. With so many college students working the various tourist attractions, they close up everything Labor Day Weekend and you'd miss a lot! Like Alaskaland or Pioneer Park, I forget what it goes by now! Wonderful Salmon Bake dinner! Lots of shops all inside authentic little log cabins.

Going along the coast you get a lot of beach weather in July, where as we went from Tok to Fairbanks then Denali and had great weather in 2008! The only summer we had that year!
Can you tell I'm passionate about Fairbanks?! It's a kickback town, with friendly people.
Happy Travels,
Kathy
Very nice to meet you. Bring your raincoat to Valdez, the forecast is not good. Watch out for the frost heaves!
